Rainbow is seeking a Substance Use Disorder Counselor for our new Substance Use Disorder Program located in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Rainbow’s newest residential treatment Program provides inpatient rehabilitation services for individuals with co-occurring disorders; This includes those with a Substance Use Disorder as well as a Trauma Diagnosis such as Brain Injury, Spinal Cord Injury or Symptoms of Pain. Our goal is to assist these individuals in living a substance-free, healthy and productive life.
We are currently offering a $5,000* sign on bonus for the qualified candidate. $1,000 paid at after 3rd month, $1,000 after 6 months, $1,000 after 9 months and $2,000 after 1 year of employment. (Subject to normal tax withholding) *must be full time 40 hours to qualify for bonus, current and previous employees not eligible for bonus.
The Substance Use Disorder Counselor will provide assessments, treatment and education to individuals in our residential inpatient program and outpatient program (voluntary as well as court-ordered). The Substance Use Disorder Counselor will provide training and education to the community, collaborate with outside collaterals as needed, monitor participants compliance with any court order/s, residential requirements, probation, other treatment activities, facilitate groups, individualized treatment for participants via treatment plans and conduct drug screens. Create and conduct programs to prevent and/or treat substance misuse and addictions as well as individual and family counseling. Will work with other interdisciplinary team members for treatment planning and implementation. Provide crisis intervention, consultation and training to staff. Travel to other treatment centers in the Washtenaw and Oakland Counties as needed.
Master’s Degree or higher in Psychology, Counseling or Social Work
Limited license or full license to practice Mental Health in the state of Michigan
Certified Advanced Addictions Counselor or Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability and willingness to learn new skills
Ability and willingness to set priorities
Ability to work as an interdisciplinary team and serve as a team member
Ability to lift, maneuver and carry up to 30lbs.

Acceptable under the State of Michigan's Good Moral
Previous experience working with the Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) population preferred
Previous experience in a rehabilitation setting preferred
