  • Responsibilities

    The Substance Abuse Counselor is responsible for evaluation of clients.  Works with other interdisciplinary team members for treatment planning and implementation. Provides crisis intervention, consultation and training to staff.  Creates and conducts programs to prevent and/or treat substance abuse and addictions as well as individual and family counseling.  This position will work out of our Treatment Centers in Ypsilanti and Farmington Hills, Michigan and the surrounding areas. 


    Core Qualifications:


    Master’s Degree or higher in Psychology, Counseling or Social Work

    Limited license or full license to practice Mental Health in the state of Michigan

    Certified Advanced Addictions Counselor or Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor

    Leadership skills

    Strong written and verbal communication skills

    Strong interpersonal skills

    Ability and willingness to learn new skills

    Ability and willingness to set priorities

    Ability to work as an interdisciplinary team and serve as a team member

    Ability to lift, maneuver and carry up to 30lbs.

    Acceptable driving record

    Acceptable under the State of Michigan's Good Moral


    Additional Qualifications:


    Previous experience working with the Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) population preferred

    Previous experience in a rehabilitation setting preferred
